kathrin & stephan flew all the way from germany to wed in las vegas! kathrin started the day getting ready at the hard rock hotel, and then met stephan at their chapel for their wedding ceremony! afterward, we had a ton of fun walking the las vegas strip for their bride and groom portraits!

i’m so excited to feature vanessa & thomas’ wedding on the blog today! beautiful light, a sweet & lovely couple, gorgeous details, extra time for portraits, and an amazing team of vendors made this day such a rewarding one! it was a day not without surprises– from when vanessa’s mom surprised her with family heirloom earrings, to when alex, their dj, told us we had an extra 20 minutes for bride & groom portraits during golden hour! light is an essential part of a wedding day, so it was very special that we were able to photograph tons of bride and groom portraits in a variety of different light settings!
vanessa and thomas started the day by getting ready with their bridesmaids and groomsmen at the lakehouse resort, and then moved over to their venue, green gables wedding estate, for their finishing touches before the ceremony. vanessa wore a stunning cathedral length lace veil that the sunlight just loved to shine through beautifully all day! and don’t even get me started on her gorgeous bouquet (it even had succulents!). the farmhouse wedding tables at their reception were so pretty and seats were filled with family and friends nearest and dearest to them. vanessa and thomas were playful and their joy just radiated onto everyone who celebrated with them! it was such an honor to capture vanessa & thomas’ wedding day!

you might say i have a knack for winning instagram giveaways. the first time around, i won a beautiful pair of earrings from emma holland denvir. a few weeks ago, when i heard rachel jacobson was giving away a beautiful handlettered piece featuring one of my favorite quotes i had no reservations in entering the contest–and soon enough, i won!
i was drawn to rachel’s work because not only is her calligraphy beautiful, but she also incorporates literary quotes into her pieces–and i absolutely love quotes. i first discovered her work after seeing a scroll she created for a styled shoot featuring a quote from rumi, and after that, i was sold! =) rachel specializes in wedding & event calligraphy and design.
